Basketball Season

So just a quick update on what is happening here. Kurt and I have joined a Tuesday night Basketball league. Since we are not able to do basketball in Seattle ( because we live in Reno , Jason ) we needed to find someplace to play basketball. We found some guys from our church as well as another church and joined the team. We played our first game last night and had a blast. Our team is pretty good. Kurt had some really nice plays underneath the glass ( thanks to some stellar assists by yours truly) and we won!!! I did not play as well as I usually do, partly because I am trying to find my place on this team and didn't want to be the guy who is a ball hog, and partly because I am still trying to adjust to the elevation. You get can get winded pretty quickly up here. I think I ended up with 7 points and 4 or 5 assists and I believe Kurt had 6 or 8 points and 2 HUGE blocks- they were the type of blocks where the ball manufacturer's name is tattooed on the guys face.

Next time I hope to have a few pics of me dunking on someone... that is if we can actually peel the girls away from Gilmore Girls...

Night Out on the Town

Well we finally got a night out on the town. Kurt and Mary and Justin and I went to dinner and then went bowling. It was really fun. First we went Go garting and I won! I am not joking I really did! Then we went bowling. The bowling alley here is really cool! It has black lights and intelligent lighting everywhere! (see pictures) Mary got 4 strikes! I think she cheated some how! Just Kidding! Grace was with her Bubba and Grandma.

Happy Anniversary!

Justin and I just celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary! Justin wasn't here when the actual day came around he was still in WA, but he sent be roses that had embossed on them "Happy Anniversary". They were beautiful! When he did arrive here about 1 week later we went to the Peppermill Casino for dinner. I know nothing Glamorous but I love their buffet there. Then we tried to go to a movie but we forgot the Rib Feast was going on and the entire area in and around the movie theatre was packed with cars. Not a single stall to park in! Oh well! I was more glad to have him home with me again! 3 weeks was way too long! Well since the family checks this site we will let you know when we are going to have a baby! I know some are impatient for that(hmmmmm I wonder who those people are? justin's mom and dad, maybe?) :) We are about a year away from trying. We need to get in our house here first which will hopefully be by summer. They are so busy here with new homes! We are loving it here and getting to know more and more people everyday! I do miss WA, knowing people everywhere we went,knowing where stores and malls are and what is in those places, and just plain knowing what street I am on! Well I do love all those that are in WA still and hope to see you around Christmas time! Love ya! Karon and Justin

Worship Party

Justin and I went to a Worship Pary with Kurt and Mary on Sunday. It was fun. We met a lot of people there which was good since we know very little here! We are both excited to meet lots of people. We are at one of the worship leaders house. They have a pool but since it was only 65 degrees outside on Sunday no one went in! One of the few cold days here in NV. With 300 days of sun I guess it had to happen sometime! We are talking with another band member there. Mary took the picture and I have read eyes but I guess it looks ok? :)

Our New Church

Justin, Karon, and Grace at TGI Friday's

We watched Grace while Kurt and Mary had a Worship Concert with some other churches inthe area. We took her to TGI Friday's and had dinner. Here is a pictures of her and her balloon that she would not let go of even to eat!

All Safe and Sound

Justin is finally here! Yahoo! Justin, Josh, and his mother all got here at 7:00 on friday night. We were so shocked that they arrived that early! They went the "scary way". It is a back road that is really windy and skinny. We went to the Rib Feast here on Sunday after church and had a lot of fun. We forgot cameras so there isn't any pictures. Basically the Rib Feast is a bunch of the best rib cookers have a contest and they sell their ribs, it's kinda like a fair. They were very very good! Grace played in the fountain with all the other kids and had a blast. Her and Justin ran through it and got soaked! We met Bryan and Laura there. They are really nice and look forward to getting to know them more. Bryan is the new Youth Pastor and our church and his wife Laura is a nurse. They are hilarous! Bryan used to be a science or biology teacher so he "scolds" us about spitting our gum out on the ground. But that " is just the descion we are going to make". I am going to "choose to live my life" that way! Ha Ha! We are adjusting well here and love the weather. Still working on getting a house here and that will hopefully happen soon so keep that in your prayers. Justin is in Cali training for his new job this week, right after he got back of course! I can't wait till he is here permanently. Work is good and I am getting back into the ol " processing" routine. My previous employer is also trying to get me to cont to work there as well. Well all is well and we are happy and getting to know new people here. Hopefully soon I will have some more pictures up! Love the Carpenters.
