The Carpenter Family

Justin and I moved to Nevada in August 2005. We love it here. However we miss our family and friends back home. Our church here is great! We have been married for 7 years. We have one Daughter, Isabella who was born Oct 19 2006 and a son Caleb due in Feb of 2009! This blog is for our Family and Friends to catch up on how we are doing. What a great invention!

    Justin and Karon update

Well lots has been going on for Karon and I and I wanted to send out a quick update. I am still recovering from my ACL surgery. I have been in physical therapy 3x a week. Yes I have almost cried like a little girl. I tell yah it is sooooo painful but I am making progress on a daily basis. Karon and I finally moved out of Kurt and Mary's house. Kurt's last words to us as we were moving out were "Don't let the door hit yah on your way out." Karon cried a little after he said that. No just kidding it was great to stay with such close friends while we got settled here in Reno. Our new place is great it is perfect for my big screen and I can now run around naked.
Here is a picture of our new place.

    Pretty sweet Huh!

This week we start up The Gathering. The Gathering is the new young adults ministry here at Summit. I will be teaching on a weekly basis, Kurt will be leading worship and Brian (Youth Pastor) will be the one to take the brunt of most of my jokes. I am so excited about The Gathering. God has been so faithful with bringing in people to help with the leadership. I have been praying for someone to come in who has had experience with campus ministry and sure enough there is a young couple who just moved from Arizona who are fired up to do campus ministry. God has had his hand in this from the get go. I believe God has big things in store for us. I have to remind myself that its not by might, not by power but by his Spirit. Its not my ministry but rather, His Ministry and he is using us to fulfill his promises. Finally here is a picture of me and my beautiful wife. I look horrible but my wife looks so HOT!!!

    Snow, Snow, Snow!

I love the snow! It's so pretty here! Seattle was beautiful as well, but we can see the hills and mountains and homes all covered in it! We are a little valley surrounded all around by these hills and mountains. It's just so pretty! Jason Hoffebuhr needs to come here and take some pictures! It started snowing on Monday morning and it snowed all day and night. It then got into the 20's and the snow stayed and got icey too!

Justin and Bryan went on Monday to some of the hills close by and went 4 byin! They almost got stuck up a hill and Justin(with his gimpy leg) went out to help Bryan get unstuck and then Bryan almost ran him over. Justin was gimply running down the hill trying to get out of the way!Laura and I just hung out at her house and watched the snow fall. They have Direct TV and with all the wind and snow it knocked it out, but I told Bryan that one of the neighbors was sweeping his off and it seemed to work. Once he got the TV up and running he was happy! Laura was too since she is sick right now, not pregnancy related!Anyway the snow falling and sticking is so pretty here. It's nice to look out your window and see the blue cloudy sky and the mountains right below it all snowy and all the roof tops as well!
