The Carpenter Family

Justin and I moved to Nevada in August 2005. We love it here. However we miss our family and friends back home. Our church here is great! We have been married for 7 years. We have one Daughter, Isabella who was born Oct 19 2006 and a son Caleb due in Feb of 2009! This blog is for our Family and Friends to catch up on how we are doing. What a great invention!

    Bella's Dedication

Last Sunday Bella got dedicated. She talked the whole time up on stage! Loud too! She wore her pretty little cream dress that Justin's parents bought her. She looked so cute. We didn't get a lot of great pics on stage with the amt of people up there but here are a few. Judah was dedicated as well along with our other friends daughter Audrey. Kaitlyn, Brian and Laura's daughter, was dedicated at a different service since they have Youth upstairs.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:13-14.

    Jehovah - Shalom

In our college age group ministry we have been going over the names of God. Psalms 9:10 "Those who know your Name, trust in you, for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you."

This last week we talked about Jehovah- Shalom, The Lord is Peace. I believe that we, as Americans, have lost peace. In our society we have gotten so use to stress being an every day part of our life that we do not understand what true peace is. We look at peace as the time we have when the kids are in bed and we have a few minutes with our spouse to sit and watch TV. We look at peace as having enough money to spend it on extra things. We look at peace as our job is secure and our boss likes us. I don't think this is true peace and here's my reasoning why, True peace is not dictated by our circumstances.

What happens when life changes those circumstances? Do we still live in Peace when the kids are driving us crazy and our spouse is irritating us? Do we still live in Peace when money is so tight we aren't sure if we will pay the bills this month? Do we still live in Peace when our job isn't so secure and our boss doesn't seem to really like us?

The Peace of God isn't just an emotion that happens when things are good, its a mindset when things are bad. Phil 4:6-7 "Don't worry about anything: instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. THEN you will experience God's PEACE, which exceeds anything we can understand. His PEACE, will guard your hearts and mind as you live in Christ Jesus."

In our society today its so easy to get worried or stress about everything. That is not what God wants for our lives. God wants us to have a peace that goes beyond our own comprehension and understanding. Anytime you fill anxiety or worry start to creep in Paul tells us that we need to PRAY about it. Not only pray for our needs but Thank God for what he has done for us thus far. This concept helps us take our focus off of the issue at hand and helps us remember all God has done for us in the past. If he did it then why can't he do the same now?

Knowing our God is faithful, and will come through for us in every circumstance is there really any reason we should have anxiety or worry?

Well she actually turned 6 months old on the 19th of April but she just had her 6 month appt at the doctor. She will be 7 months in about a week! Where did the time go. She is 28 1/2 inches long and weighs 17 1/2 lbs. We totally thought she would be much heavier than that! She is awesome! She babbles all day long and screeches with excitement! She has about 3 or 4 different laughs that all mean something else! Our baby dedication is this Sunday at church. I wish family and our all our friends from Seattle could see it but we will post some pics! She sits on her own and has for about a month now! She loves baths, playing with her feet and chewing on everything she gets into her mouth. No teeth yet but man they need to hurry up before she eats everything! She loves Yogurt! Well she loves food in general! Don't bother eating in front of her if you can't share it! She will screech at you! I think she might be a little stubborn! :) Ha ha! I know what you all are thinking, very funny! :) I finally finished her birth to 6 month video and it's so cute!
