The Carpenter Family

Justin and I moved to Nevada in August 2005. We love it here. However we miss our family and friends back home. Our church here is great! We have been married for 7 years. We have one Daughter, Isabella who was born Oct 19 2006 and a son Caleb due in Feb of 2009! This blog is for our Family and Friends to catch up on how we are doing. What a great invention!

    Life

Well not much going on but the same ol' stuff! Bella is now 16 months old! Amazing! Man time flies! She is talking up a storm and trying to tell us stuff (not that we understand the sentences) everyday! She loves to RUUUUN! through the house and hide under her bed! She just got two molers and is working on the other two. I thought it would take forever for her to get more teeth! She only really had 4 at 1 years old and two of those were still coming through! She is very social and loves to say "hi" to all her friends and everyone she sees. It cracks me up, she doesn't know half of them but will just say "hi" and "bye" to them all! We go to Story time at the library out here with her other friends and it's really fun. She is learning that she should sit still while listening to the story but sometimes gets a little distracted, but once the music time starts she is all about listening! On monday we have "play group" with her friends that were all born around the same time and they are learning to "share". I say share but we all know that doesn't happen! More like "mine" or "No" and a little shove to each other, but it's fun to get together with everyone! She loves to play babies but only with her bear. She will wrap it up in a blanket and give it a bottle, the bottle though has to have water in it or it's "all done". She pretends to make food with her plates and spoons an cups and will pretend to eat it too. It's so cute. Her and her friend Audrey will feed each other. It's like a little dinner party! She loves to put on her jacket and go outside or "bye bye". She even will try and put on our coats or our sweaters. IT's so funny looking dragging behind her! I guess it's time for dress up clothes! She does have a purse I put some empty makeup and old sunglasses it and she will carry that around. Such a girl! Loves to watch Baby Einstein, won't watch any other movie. She will watch Spongebob or "bumbob". Sound familier Mary! :)

We are doing our relationship series in The Gathering this month and I talked to the girls last week and this week it's to the guys. I am a little nervous to talk to the guys cause, well, they are guys! But last year Mary and I did it and it went fine. So hopefully by myself it will still be ok. We have a few parents (of the young adults) that have stepped up and want to help mentor the girls as well, which is awesome! It's hard for Justin and I to split our time with them all but we
want to reach out and help them and be there for them too. So having their help is amazing! We are doing a guys night and girls night with all the girls from The Gathering this Friday and next Friday to have fun and reach out to them and so they can get to know the "moms" and "dad" mentors that want to help out. It's amazing how much there is a need for the "Young Adult" generation. Justin and I are reading the book "UnChristian" and it's a great book and has a lot of information about the views of Christians in the world. Also gives us incite into the 19-29 year old generation out there. So much has changed in the 10 years since I have been in highschool it's crazy. But I am glad that we are getting involved with this age group. And anyone who has a heart for this age group as well, Thank you for getting involved! Anyway, so all is good, we are keeping pretty busy. Justin's LIFE! Group is doing good and he loves it. He is at a OneNight Concert tonight for Young Adults and UNR, instead of LIFE! Group but they will all be there anyway! This is a great concert as well. Last year I got to go and the Worship and teachings were awesome, everyone did a great job. All young adults come too, those that go to church and those that don't. Hopefully Justin won't get a parking ticket this year though! Ooops! My LIFE! Group is doing amazing as well. I love those girls! Most of them go to The Gathering too so it's a great to see them midweek and talk. LIFE! groups are so great for having intimate, deep conversations and really getting to the heart of so many things. And they create lasting memories and friendships. What else. I don't ever know what to say on Blogger, I guess cause so much happens day in and day out. But we love it here and are so happy we moved here. Maybe Justin will update it the blog and stop harassing me to do it :)!
Justin and I went to Tahoe for the 1st time over his birthday in Jan. It was beautiful! The Gathering leaders completly surprised us with a night stay and dinner at a hotel up there! We were completly shocked! It snowed while we were there and that made it even more beautiful! It was a nice time away. They even watched Bella for us!
